The AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge 2024 is powered by the CGIAR Accelerate for Impact Platform (A4IP) and co-organized with CGIAR Centers-The Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, ICARDA, IWMI, and IFPRI-as well as the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) of Egypt.
This initiative is endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt (MOHESR) and is supported by PRIMA, Climate Resilient Africa Fund (CRAF), ALEX BANK, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA), CGIAR Initiatives and units operating in the MENA region.
AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge 2024
Application for the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge 2024 is now open. This program is tailored for early-stage Agri-tech ventures based in Egypt. Applicants must have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or Proof of Concept (POC) to apply. The program aims to assist and equip participants in developing a robust go-to-market strategy through technical validation and market access.
Benefits of the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge 2024
As a participant, you will:
- Gain access to tools and step-by-step guidance for establishing a scalable Agri-tech venture in Egypt.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Egypt’s agricultural landscape.
- Partook in a fully funded, 4-day immersive BootCamp.
- Connect with a global network of partners and agribusinesses.
- Receive professional guidance from CGIAR scientists and industry professionals.
- Access a sponsored 6-month acceleration program that combinines entrepreneurial training and technical support.
Participants in the acceleration program will also:
- Test and validate their solutions with end-users for up to 6 months.
- Get up to 300,000 EGP as an equity-free grant that is provided by ASRT.
- Gain exposure to investors and potential market opportunities.
Eligibility for the Challenge
The program is only:
- Open to early-stage Agri-tech ventures based in Egypt.
- The Agri-tech innovation has to align with one of the following areas:
- Digital agriculture and precision farming
- Agri-finance solutions
- Sustainable value chain development
- Capacity building tools
- Efficient irrigation water management
