Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology (AIT) program is a four-year scholarship program for African youths.
It is designed to cultivate the next generation of African technology professionals in the United States.
Sankofatech recognizes that technology is not always the preferred career path for African youth, often due to limited industry knowledge, community misconceptions, and resource constraints.
The AIT program addresses these challenges head-on by providing scholars with a comprehensive four-year experience that hones their skills and connects them with a supportive network of peers, mentors, advisors, and accomplished tech professionals.
Benefits of participating in the Sankofatech Achievers in Technology Program
As a participant in the AIT program, you should expect to get the following benefits:
- Annual $500 scholarship award (totaling up to $2000)

Note: Scholarship continuation is contingent upon remaining in the AIT Program and selecting a qualified STEM major.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants for the 2024-2025 AIT cohort must:
- Apply for the 2024-2025 academic year
- Have a high level of interest in a tech career (tech career such as Product Management Software Engineering, Information Security, Data Science, Project/Program Management, Database Administration, Networking, etc.)
- Be of African descent
- Come from a low-income household
Selection process
Interested students should follow these steps:
- Ensure the Application form is completed and submitted by Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
- Wait to be selected and invited for an interview.
- Wait for the Final decisions that will be communicated by July 2024.
