Wilson Ornithological Society Research Grants 2024

The Wilson Ornithological Society offers four categories of research grants each year, with varying amounts of awards. As a condition of all grants, the awardees must be willing to report the results of their research as an oral or poster paper at an annual meeting of the Wilson Ornithological Society within the next five years. So, if you are a member of the society and working on a research project related to birds, this can be an excellent opportunity to get financial support for your work.

Wilson Ornithological Society Research Grants 2024

The Wilson Ornithological Society grants research grants in four categories each year. Each has a slightly different focus, and the awards vary in value. All awards also require the recipient to be willing to present the findings of the study as an oral or poster paper at a Wilson Ornithological Society annual meeting during the next five years, as well as to submit a brief biography and a picture of themselves for the webpage.

Among the grants are:

  • Louis Agassiz Feurtes Grants: Each year, up to two $5,000 grants are given out.
  • Gerald F. Mayfield and George A. Hall Grant: For studies in any field of ornithology, up to four $3,000 grants are given out each year.
  • Paul A. Stewart Grants: Each year, up to four $2,000 awards are given out.
