Under the auspices of the Russian Federation’s UNESCO commission, Rossiya Segodnya founded the Andrei Stenin International Photo ContestPress on December 22, 2014. The Stenin Contest is the only competition in Russia that establishes criteria of excellence for documentary photography and unearths up-and-coming talent in the world of photojournalism. The competition aims to assist aspiring young photojournalists between the ages of 18 and 33 in achieving the highest level of professionalism. The competition is commemorating its tenth year this year.
Young photojournalists get a chance to voice their concerns through this contest. The contest’s primary themes include national identity, social equality, the environment, and worldwide humanitarian concerns. Each year, the number of contestants and the nations they represent increase. The exhibitions of the winning entries, which have grown to be an essential component of the occasion, are also contributing to the contest’s increased popularity. Numerous nations, including as China, South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Turkey, Lebanon, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Poland, have hosted them.

Prizes for Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest 2024
• Grand Prix: Seven hundred thousand rubles, or roughly nine thousand US dollars.
• In each category, the first-place winner received RUB 125,000 (one hundred and twenty-five thousand rubles), or roughly USD 1,300.
• In each category, the second-place photo image or series of images received RUB 75,000 (seventy-five thousand), or roughly USD 900.
• Additional prizes may also be offered by contest sponsors.
Eligibility Criteria for Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest 2024
• Accepting aspiring photojournalists.
• Be in the age range of 18 to 33.
• They might originate from any part of the globe.
• The pictures had to be taken after January 1, 2023. A series of photos that began in a prior year may be approved in extraordinary circumstances. In such a scenario, the final photos from earlier years are approved. In this scenario, the series’ final image has to have been taken in 2023 or 2024.
• A single photo or a sequence of no more than 12 photos may be included in an entry. It is appropriate to make little adjustments to the density (brightness, contrast), balance (white balance), or cropping. We will not accept framed pictures, collages, or pictures that have been heavily manipulated, with portions of the image altered, removed, or substituted with a different picture.
• JPG files will be uploaded for the photos. There will be no compression more than 10. By its longer side, the image must have a minimum of 2,200 pixels and a maximum of 5,700 pixels.
• The photograph’s serial number, the author’s first and last names, the title, and the year the image was taken must all be included in the file name, separated by underscores, for example, 01_Smith_James_The_Spring_2011. The file name needs to be written in Latin script. The maximum file size is 20 Mb. All of the EXIF data must also be present in the file.

The participant uploads and saves entries on their STENINCONTEST.COM personal page. It is possible to add or remove photos until the participant submits the work. Once the entry is submitted, it is not possible to add or remove photographs.
