The BKMC Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program 2024 is organized by the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) with the support of Dubai Cares and in partnership with Plan International and Unbounded Associates.
BKMC Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program 2024
The program is for young people aged 14 to 20 who are interested in green careers. It extends from the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course and aims to bridge the gap between young people’s passions, interests, and skills with meaningful pathways in the green sector.
Participants will engage in two workshops and benefit from personalized mentorship provided by green job experts. Moreover, they will actively contribute to climate action by executing an SDG Micro-Project, applying the knowledge and skills acquired from the course. These micro-projects are designed to address sustainable development goals (SDGs) within local communities, fostering a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
Key program Dates for BKMC Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program 2024
- Early May: Mentor matching and connection via email
- May 15th, 2024, 1:00 – 2:30 pm CET: Online Kick-off Ceremony
- May 24th, 2024, 1:00 – 3:30 pm CET: First Virtual Workshop
- June 10th, 2024, 1:00 – 3:30 pm CET: Second Virtual Workshop
- June-November 2024: Self-paced SDG Micro-Project implementation with regular online mentor meetings and BKMC check-ins
- Late November 2024: Online Graduation Ceremony

Eligibility Criteria
For you to be eligible for the program, you must be:
- Age between 14 and 20 years old.
- Complete the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course.
- Demonstrated motivation and interest in sustainable development and green careers.
- Passion for effecting change at local and global levels.
- Upper-intermediate English language proficiency and access to a stable internet connection.
- Ability to participate in online meetings at 1-3:30 pm CET in your local time zone.
